ACICULAR STRUCTURE – A microstructure characterized by needle shaped constituents. AUSTENITE – A solid solution of cementite or iron carbide, Fe C in iron. BANDED STRUCTURE – A segregated structure of nearly parallel bands aligned in the direction of working. BEL – A unit denoting the ratio of power levels of signals or sound. The number of bels may be given as the common logarithm of the ratio of powers.
